Quenching Roll

Quenching roll is the important transmission on metallurgical equipment. At present, in order to improve the operation rate and reduce the consumption of the roll mill; the rolling mill adopts high hardness, and the shell mainly uses 45#, 42CrMo or others.

Machining procedures:

(1)Before quenching and machining, rough machining (rough cutting outside circle and drill the centre hole) use to remove the extra raw material of forged steel and prepare for next process.

(2)The mechanical process before quenching mainly work on the semi-fine machining, to remove  the carbon-removed layer formed on the surface of the roll during the quenching and tempering, and fixed to a certain size. The surface must have no sharp edges, dents and sharp angles, and the sample is taken. Preparing for quenching

(3)After quenching, in consideration of the large deformation and too many machining work left, as usual to machine the shell and journal first and then grinding to fasten the machining process.

(4)smoothness machining, mainly on fine grinding, Grinding of the cold rolls can be carried out on a large external boring mill or roll grinder. If the grinding roller neck is first positioned on the cylindrical grinding machine with the center hole, and then the roller neck is positioned (supported by two brackets, the roller is rotated by the coupling), so that the positioning reference coincides with the assembly reference. This reduces the positioning error.
